Lunch break is brief/a welcome respite/barely enough time in the army now to breathe. The afternoon drags on, and finally, the closing bell arrives.

We become accustomed/settle into/fall prey to the familiarity/predictability/routine of our current/existing/present situation, resisting/averse to/unwilling to embark/venture/initiate on a path/journey/course of change/transformation/evolution. This resistance/hesitation/reluctance only serves to/perpetuates/reinforces the cycle, pushing/driving/forcing us further into a state of stagnation/inertia/immobility.
